[Semi] Wordless Wednesday

This is what I've been doing in the evenings. Making teeny tiny hats for premature babies.

I've talked about my friends baby Aiden several times. The NICU and the Giraffe OMNI bed saved his life. And it's become an important part of their lives and is special to us as well.

Scotty has organized a gift drop off for the families who will spend their Christmas with a child in the NICU. Gift baskets filled with diapers, wipes, infant toys, bottles, baby lotion, diaper rash cream, baby medicines and these tiny hats.

They still need items to be donated. If you're local and interested, someone can come pick up the items from you or you can take them to the Baptist NICU on the 2nd floor. Chances are, you know how to get a hold of me, either here in the comments, twitter or facebook, message me if you want to help these families.

Look at how tiny the smallest hat is. The nurses in the NICU said that these
babies' heads range from 8 inches around to 16 inches.

  1. I'd LOVE to do something like that. Can you show us how to make them?

  3. Those hats are gorgeous. I'm jealous of your talents. The knit hat we got at the hospital for FunnyKid was so precious to us-- I can only imagine what they mean to a family with a premature baby. What a great way to celebrate the true meaning of the season.
